Recently, Chongqing issued the implementation opinions on completely, accurately and comprehensively implementing the new development concept and doing a good job of carbon neutrality in peak carbon dioxide emissions, unswervingly taking the high-quality development path of ecological priority, green and low carbon, accelerating the adjustment of industrial structure, energy structure, transportation structure and land use structure, and ensuring the realization of peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality as scheduled.
In order to promote the upgrading of the energy industry and realize the transformation of the Group from a traditional city gas enterprise to an integrated energy service provider, Chongqing Gas Group built a 1+2+N industrial layout in the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" to further promote the construction of integrated energy projects and help achieve the goal of "double carbon".
Layout steps into the road of green development
It is understood that Chongqing Gas Group has laid out comprehensive energy service industries since the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, and has always regarded it as an important strategic direction for the upgrading and development of urban gas enterprises. Comprehensive energy service refers to providing intelligent, clean and efficient comprehensive energy supply services, in which natural gas distributed energy is heating and cooling by using the waste heat generated by natural gas, and the comprehensive utilization rate of energy reaches 70%~90%. Compared with coal and fuel, the emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO2), dust and solid waste are almost zero, and the emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen oxides (NO2) can also be reduced by more than 30%.
In 2010, Chongqing Gas Group set up a professional company to build a centralized cooling and heating project in Chongqing CBD headquarters economic zone, which was completed and put into use in 2014. The installed capacity of the project is 7.46MW, and the natural gas distributed energy coupled with renewable energy river water source heat pump composite system is used to provide 800,000 ㎡ users with air-conditioned cold water, air-conditioned hot water, sanitary hot water and part of electricity for 15 buildings in CBD headquarters economic zone.

This project is a national renewable energy building application city demonstration project, and it is the first regional energy supply project in China to adopt natural gas distributed energy combined with river water source heat pump renewable energy system. It won the first prize of China distributed energy excellent project in 2015 and the national renewable energy building application city demonstration project in 2016. Up to now, the project has achieved remarkable benefits in energy saving and emission reduction, which can reduce the installed power capacity of a single building by 40%, save the area of air-conditioning room of each building by 75%, save 6,560 tons of standard coal every year, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 21,147 tons, and save water by 423449m3, greatly reducing the heat island effect in this area and improving the regional environmental quality. The completion and operation of this project has opened the prelude to the development of Chongqing Gas Group’s comprehensive energy service industry.

Customize flexible distribution to improve resource utilization
Chongqing Gas Group continues to exert its efforts in the comprehensive energy industry, and regards it as an important supporting industry for the transformation and upgrading to a first-class comprehensive energy service provider in the Tenth Five-Year Plan. Up to now, more than ten projects have been built under construction, mainly focusing on hospitals, transportation hubs, industrial parks and large-scale industries, promoting the implementation of natural gas distributed energy projects, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 38,000 tons annually.

Using natural gas to realize the triple supply of cooling, heating and electricity for buildings; Control the air conditioning switch of the office building with one key in the platform system to prevent energy waste caused by forgetting to turn off the air conditioning after work; According to the analysis of temperature, humidity and energy consumption in the same period of last year, the energy system is optimally combined in real time to improve the energy utilization rate … Seven office buildings in Chongqing Environmental Protection Industrial Park in Lijia District of Chongqing have put into use the above-mentioned high-efficiency and low-energy distributed natural gas energy.

It is understood that the natural gas distributed energy project of Chongqing Environmental Protection Industrial Park is invested, constructed and operated by Chongqing Yurun Energy Service Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Chongqing Gas Group. It provides cold, heat and electricity energy services for the industrial park in the mode of energy custody, and realizes the comprehensive intelligent energy management of the industrial park. It was put into operation in August 2021. Over the past year, the cold, hot water and gas supply of all buildings in the environmental protection industrial park have been running smoothly, and the energy utilization rate has reached over 85%. The project fully meets the environmental protection demonstration positioning requirements of the owner and strictly controls the emission of air pollutants, which will save 122 tons of standard coal, reduce the emission of carbon dioxide by 3,172 tons, sulfur dioxide by 3 tons and nitrogen oxide by 0.9 tons every year.

Deeply ploughing and pulling the "energy engine" to empower a better life
In recent years, Chongqing Gas Group, with the strong support of Chongqing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Economic and Information Committee, Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau and other relevant departments, has actively promoted the comprehensive energy business strategy and built comprehensive energy projects in areas involving hospitals, industries, commercial complexes, transportation hubs, etc., pushing the Group to the road of green development and helping to achieve the goal of "double carbon". It is reported that by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan, Chongqing Gas Group will have invested in more than 20 comprehensive energy projects.
Among them, Chongqing Gas Group is carrying out a number of demonstration benchmarking projects in the field of comprehensive energy. In the "Demonstration Project of Regional Centralized Energy Supply", Chongqing Gas Group studies the possibility of implementing regional centralized energy supply in mature urban areas, explores a new business model of cooperation with commercial users, strengthens the utilization of comprehensive underground pipe corridors and idle underground space in business districts, and creates a "one network" of regional energy supply. In the "demonstration project of near-zero carbon park", Chongqing Gas Group will build a near-zero carbon park in Chongqing Environmental Protection Science and Technology Industrial Park through technical means and transactional means, and achieve the requirement of reducing carbon emissions by 40% by 2024, with an average annual carbon reduction of 1,082 tons.
In the future, Chongqing Gas Group will continue to shoulder the mission of promoting energy transformation and green development, take many measures to ensure the full horsepower of the "energy engine", strive to explore new ways to increase the proportion of clean energy in the comprehensive energy utilization system, and strive for greater breakthroughs in various energy-using scenarios such as hospital energy supply and regional energy supply projects, so as to fully meet the city’s high-quality development energy demand and help accelerate the overall green transformation of the economy and society.
