The mountains are mainly afforestation and conservation forests, and the forest coverage rate has increased to 45.3% now.
Nowadays, the water flowing from the source of Fenhe River has been stable at Grade II water quality all the year round. The water quality at the source is guaranteed, and how to deal with the discharge of domestic sewage from towns along the Fenhe River is also the key to improve the water quality of Fenhe River. Since 2020, Shanxi has strengthened the construction and transformation of infrastructure such as sewage treatment along the Fenhe River, and gradually realized the full coverage of centralized domestic sewage treatment capacity in cities along the line.
