According to reports, on the day of their disappearance, heavy snow fell in many places in the mountains, which led to avalanches. At one time, the two men tried to retreat to the valley area with lower altitude. In the end, Liang Shengyue was found in the Nachate Valley on April 26th, but Liu Chenjun died three days before being found.

In the first three weeks of being trapped, they ate cooked potatoes, soaked flour in water to eat batter and chewed raw rice to maintain their basic physical strength. "Because there is gas, they ate cooked instant noodles twice, which is super happy." Later, when the food gradually disappeared, I ate oil and salt. "Touch a little salt with your fingers. Salt has a lot of minerals. Just eat two or three mouthfuls a day with mountain spring water, which is enough."
After being trapped for nearly three weeks, Liang Shengyue and Liu Chenjun gradually became desperate. Liang Shengyue said, "I remember it was March 17, and the two of us decided to simply burn charcoal." However, with the trekking poles left by mountain friends and our tents, it can’t burn at all. Liang Shengyue graduated from high school in 2014 and spent 110 days riding a bike from Fujian to Xinjiang via Zhejiang, Henan, Shaanxi and Gansu, completing the feat of 7,700 kilometers. Liang Shengyue said that he met Liu Chenjun through a friend’s introduction after he came back from cycling across the mainland. Because of the same interests, he started dating last year.
