1. Q: Please tell us about the background and significance of the promulgation of the Measures.
A: Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the CPC Central Committee with the Supreme Leader as the core has attached great importance to the honorary commendation of meritorious service and promoted the establishment of a system of honorary commendation of meritorious service with China characteristics. In recent years, the August 1st Medal, the Friendship Medal, the 40th Anniversary Celebration of Reform and Opening-up, and the National Highest Science and Technology Award have been successfully carried out.
