Xinhua News Agency, Taipei, May 1st (Reporter Zhang Lixin, Shang Hao) On May 1st, on the Labor Day, the "May 1st Action Alliance", composed of trade unions and social organizations from various industries in Taiwan Province, held a labor parade on Ketagalan Avenue in front of the office of the leader of the Taiwan authorities, with "eight years of full administration and labor accounting as the main axis" to protest against the continuous deterioration of the labor environment caused by Democratic Progressive Party’s disregard for labor rights and interests since he took office.
“八年执政笑嗨嗨，劳工艰苦谁人管”“我要职场，不要战场”“我是劳工，不是奴工”……聚集在抗议现场的数千人高举标语，齐呼口号，表达对民进党当局无力解决民生困境，不能保障劳工利益的强烈不满。
记者在现场看到，游行民众来自台北、新北、云林、高雄、桃园、台南、苗栗等各县市，横跨医护、航空、银行、铁路、邮政、警消等各个行业。参与游行的团体包括台湾产业总工会、台湾高等教育产业工会、劳动人权协会等约50家。
参加此次游行的劳动党主席吴荣元对新华社记者表示，民进党执政以来，台湾社会经济环境不断恶化，通货膨胀持续加剧，遭遇最惨就是劳工大众。所以，此次游行的主要诉求，就是要求当局把保障劳工权益当作社会安全的大事来对待。
台湾产业总工会理事长江健兴表示，民进党执政以来，很多承诺如提高工资、处理劳保年金等都尚未落实，而台湾受雇人员报酬在GDP占比从曾经的50%，下滑到了2021年的43.03%，显见雇主获利的果实未和劳工分享。
"Two working hours to correct evil leads to the same overwork", "The problem of low salary continues, and the gap between the rich and the poor is too large", "Empty call for annuity reform, unable to implement the guarantee" and "Harvest the fruits of the epidemic and disappoint the grassroots contribution" … … These problems have become the main direction of public protests. The people interviewed generally said that Democratic Progressive Party, who had been in full power for seven years, had handed over a "report card" that made the workers extremely disappointed.
"Eggs have gone up in price, pork has gone up in price, and only the salary has not gone up! We must stand up and speak for the workers. " Luo Guoyong, a villager representative from Hukou Township, Hsinchu County, said.
"In recent years, the salaries of newly recruited young people in the company have not only failed to rise, but also regressed. Their plight needs to be heard." Geng Yuxiang, an employee representative of a water supply company, said.
"May 1 Action Alliance" expressed the hope that the Democratic Progressive Party authorities would face up to the aspirations of the broad masses of workers and put forward reform plans as soon as possible to improve the deteriorating working environment.
