  Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, August 8 (Reporter Xiong Feng) The reporter learned from the Ministry of Public Security on August 8 that the Ministry of Public Security has deployed public security organs all over the country, especially those in severely affected areas, to devote all their efforts to flood control and disaster relief. Local public security organs actively cooperate with relevant departments to carry out rescue, relocation, hidden danger investigation, road maintenance and order maintenance. Since July 28, a total of 805,000 police officers have been dispatched in various places, effectively protecting the lives and property of the people and effectively maintaining the overall social stability.

  The Beijing Public Security Bureau dispatched 53,000 police officers to comprehensively strengthen various flood control and security measures, mobilized five police helicopters to fly to Fangshan, Mentougou, Changping and other places to transport seriously injured patients and pregnant women, and delivered 12.1 tons of emergency relief materials such as food and medicine to 25 disaster-stricken locations. Hebei public security organs scientifically mobilized police forces to fully support the emergency rescue, evacuation and proper resettlement of trapped people in Zhuozhou and other disaster-stricken areas.

  In accordance with the unified arrangements, local public security organs have effectively strengthened traffic emergency management during the flood season, deployed sufficient police forces to get on the road, and solidly carried out traffic safety precautions and emergency traffic support for emergency rescue, so as to fully ensure smooth traffic for emergency rescue and disaster relief and serve the people to travel safely. Jilin public security organs carried out comprehensive investigation and rectification of key roads, bridges and culverts that are prone to water accumulation, landslides and flooding, increased command and guidance, and opened up fast-track emergency rescue. The public security organs in Heilongjiang strengthen consultation and judgment with meteorological departments, dynamically adjust road service, strengthen traffic guidance in rainy days, and ensure people’s safe travel.

  In order to ensure a stable social order, local public security organs, in combination with the crackdown on public security in summer, increased police input, targeted to strengthen the order maintenance of key parts such as emergency shelters, mass resettlement sites, materials storage and distribution sites, and medical rescue sites, and severely cracked down on illegal crimes such as theft, robbery, provocation and looting of materials in accordance with the law.
