Cannes films will be sold online! What are the advantages and disadvantages of online market?

In this report, we try to answer these questions:

1. How is the Cannes Film Market held this year?

2. Can the online movie market accommodate all the transactions during the film festival?

3. Can film producers buy this year’s competition films online?

4. What is the impact of online market on movie trading?

5. What else can Cannes film market do besides trading?

Special feature of 1905 film network What to do in Cannes this year should be the topic that fans are most concerned about during this period. May every year not only means how more than 100 films will meet the audience, but also means that those films will become the focus of discussion by the audience in the coming year, and what kind of films will be displayed at major film festivals.

Cannes Film Festival not only provides a few months’ talk for fans, but more importantly, it is one of the largest film markets in the world. In May, together with directors, actors, producers and the media, there were also representatives of film companies, agents, distributors, film foundations and other people in the industry from all over the world.

The market set a record in 2019 How to face difficulties in 2020?

2019 is the 60th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival film market, which has welcomed more than 12,000 participants in an unprecedented way. This year, when the selection of three parallel units was cancelled and the date of the official screening unit was ambiguous, the future of the film market and the screening markets in many countries behind it became a topic of more concern to the industry.

Now, the film market has decided to hold it online this year. In its official statement, this year’s online film market will fully simulate every function offline, from the agent booth to the film agency exhibition hall; From online video conferencing to online watching movies; There will even be online forums.

But at the moment, will the online movie market still maintain the vitality of offline every year?

"In our platform, the film market accounts for about 10%." David, a reporter from a film media who has reported the Cannes Film Festival for many years, said, "This year, I don’t think the impact will be great, and maybe there will be a lot of transactions."

The person in charge of the film market said that 80% of the publishers they consulted were willing to try the online market; 66% still have the ability to buy films including films, post-production and script creation.

The person in charge stressed that this year’s online film market will provide an efficient and cutting-edge platform for film screening, trading and financing. The online movie market has been scheduled for May 22nd for a week.

Online movie market Can you replace the seaside luxury hotel?

Walk into the movie palace and go down the stairs directly to the basement. These hundreds of planes and the two floors above them are the movie market in Cannes. Film companies and agents from various countries distribute thousands of film copyrights to all parts of the world here.

But among other movie people, there is an invisible "market" in Cannes, which is located in hotels lined up by the sea. Larger film companies often negotiate cooperation here. Someone from a film company once said: "The films in the movie palace market are basically films that no one wants after the copyright is robbed."

When the film market appears online this year, will there be "two markets"?

"I don’t quite agree with this statement." Li Yihua, the person in charge of Nianhua outside the window, said. In recent years, she has bought the China rights of many films in Cannes and other film festivals. "The so-called hotel is the second market, which may be a relatively large company and needs more freedom. I think the difference between talking about business and not talking about business is not so big, but the conditions and timing of negotiation. "

Li Yihua believes that the film market of the Film Palace actually plays an important role for sales companies to develop new customers and buyers. This is also the necessity of the existence of the official film market in Cannes.

But this year, the market turned online, and she felt that it might not be so friendly to new buyers. When selling films, sales companies may have concerns in the face of buyers they have never met.

In the Cannes film market transactions in the past few years, even many familiar companies talked about their cooperation intentions long in advance in order to improve the efficiency and success rate of the transactions during Cannes. Li Yihua mentioned that for new buyers, online film festivals may also bring difficulties. Not knowing the sales company and not meeting in advance will reduce the success rate of the transaction.

Advantages and disadvantages of online market Can a film dealer buy a competition film?

The official statement of the film market of Cannes Film Festival seems to be a reassurance to film practitioners. Perhaps the only worry is what kind of films can be bought this year.

Recalling the experience of buying films, an industry insider who went to Cannes Film Festival all the year round revealed that every time, he had to sit down at the booth of the Film Palace market, listen to the seller’s introduction, and then spend two or three minutes watching a film. If a company has 10 films, it may take 30 to 40 minutes to watch it, and then he can start to talk about conditions, and basically he will not decide whether to buy a film immediately. Actually, it’s a waste of time

This year’s film festival was held online. In the eyes of this industry, it actually saved a lot of time for purchase and negotiation. "The same work can be done online, and there are written materials in advance, which can make better decisions. If there is a link to the demo, everyone in the company can watch it. More flexible. "

Li Yihua, who buys copyright for her company at major film festivals every year, agrees with this view. She said that she has to fly to four or five film festivals every year to hold meetings, watch films and sort out materials in a few days. The time is particularly tight: "If you are online, the time on the road and the time difference will be omitted. It will be more efficient for everyone to watch films directly."

Li Yihua told us that at this year’s Berlin Film Festival, she chose to watch the film online at home and then make a decision to buy the film: "Some foreign companies anticipated this problem and sent us the link when they showed it in Berlin. I watched a lot of competition films, and the last film I bought won this year’s Golden Bear. "

David, a film journalist, is generally optimistic about the online market this year. He thinks that in this year’s environment, the copyright transaction volume of online broadcasting may reach a new high. But at the same time, he is worried that because the market is held before the film festival, filmmakers may not be able to buy any "explosive" movies.

"The online market will not have much impact on procurement." Li Yihua said, "But if there is no nomination, or a stunt like a competition unit, I think it will be very difficult to buy a film." She mentioned that more than 100 films in the official and parallel units of Cannes will be concerned by the domestic media because of the name of "Cannes", but this year’s changes will make her more cautious in buying films.

The online transaction is solved. Where is the offline activity going?

"The film market is a more specific, practical and functional trading platform extended by the film festival. It will include market screening, forum activities and so on, and its diversity and inclusiveness are also very important." According to Liu Lei, the operation director of China Film Foundation’s Wu Tianming Youth Film Special Fund, this is a very important part of the offline activities of Cannes Film Festival.

Liu Lei mentioned that the world filmmakers attracted by Cannes Film Festival will help young filmmakers understand the necessary practical skills such as film promotion skills, joint production, international finance, market strategy, market distribution and international sales.

Therefore, for filmmakers, the film market is a platform for buying and selling film copyrights. But at the same time, the establishment of this market is also helping young people in the industrial chain to stand on the international stage faster.

Liu Lei gave us an example: Xiao Gancao, our producer, was greatly encouraged after he came to Cannes. Before that, he never thought that famous actors could be used in this project, but after returning to China, he found Duan Long, and after many conversations, he "knocked him down" and became the star of the film.

When the movie market moves online, what will happen to these projects and forums outside the copyright?

Liu Lei did not disclose whether there will be relevant arrangements for this year’s Wu Tianming Youth Film Special Fund. But he said: "Some of the things that the Foundation can do is to help filmmakers in need to answer their doubts. Of course, switching to online also represents a lot of workload for Cannes film market staff. If there is anything we can do, we are also willing to contribute. "

Whether it is the Cannes Film Festival or the international film festivals in Beijing and Shanghai, for them, the work is not only a screening, but also an important part of the global or regional film industry system. The film market turnover of Beijing International Film Festival is increasing year by year; The venture capital unit of Shanghai International Film Festival has become a climate. At this time, it is even more necessary for filmmakers to support each other and make the film industry develop continuously in a new form.

In the interview, Liu Lei said: "Under such a global crisis, we can use this time to reflect on the future development of the film, the film itself, its commercialization, cultural attributes and so on. The film has never stopped for more than 120 years, everything will pass, and we will eventually get back on the road. "

Chen Kexin’s mobile phone shooting "Three Minutes" touched people’s hearts.

These days, a short film "Three Minutes" has exploded the circle of friends, which tells an unusual reunion in Spring Festival travel rush. The story is very simple. The mother in the film is a train attendant on the "Nanning to Harbin" line. It is the busiest time to work overtime during the Spring Festival, and her son Ding Ding, who is about to go to elementary school, misses his mother, so he asks his aunt to take him to the train station next to his home and meet him while his mother’s train stops on the platform for 3 minutes. This Spring Festival travel rush-themed short film was shot by Hong Kong director Chen Kexin, and the content of the short film was based on a true story. After the short film was launched, it was played more than 13 million times on Youku in one day. Enthusiastic netizens also found the prototype of the story.

The story is based on true events.

The joy in the compartment or the joy of meeting relatives on the platform are the most familiar memories of the Spring Festival. This can’t help but remind people of the mainland realistic film "Dear" filmed by Chen Kexin a few years ago. The strong local flavor and sense of reality in the film will also surprise people that the film was produced by a Hong Kong director.

Outstanding storytelling ability, keen perception of details, concern for reality and strong humanistic feelings are Chen Kexin’s consistent styles. Chen Kexin said that although he has no experience in Spring Festival travel rush, the Spring Festival and reunion are the themes he has been paying attention to for many years. "I can fully imagine the joy and happiness when Spring Festival travel rush comes home." When "Three Minutes" was filmed in Chongqing, Chen Kexin saw the crowds surging on the platform. Although there were all extras in front of him, he was still infected by this feeling of returning home. When the audition actors sang the song of returning home for the New Year, he said that he was also moved to tears.

The short film touches the audience, not only because the flight attendants are busy on the train every Spring Festival, but also because the most critical structural design of the plot is that after the train stops at the platform, the mother and son meet for only 3 minutes. Three minutes, the sense of time limit brought by this reunion is the tension of the plot. The short film specially emphasizes this sense of time with the creative idea of 3-minute countdown. In the film, the countdown number is displayed at the top of the screen, which reminds the audience that the separation time between mother and son is approaching from the time the train enters the station. When entering the station, my mother saw her son on the platform through the window, but when the door opened, she had to help the passengers get on and off first, so she couldn’t find her son at the first time. Because there were too many people on the platform, my son couldn’t find his mother at the first time. When the child found his mother through the crowd on the platform, the time of 3 minutes has become 2 minutes. When the mother and son met and hugged, the mother waited for her son to speak with eager eyes. An interesting scene happened. After a moment of silence, the son began to recite the multiplication formula loudly. It turned out that my mother had joked with her son who was about to go to elementary school, "If you can’t recite the multiplication table, you can’t go to school, let alone see your mother." On the platform, my son didn’t recite the formula fluently, and at this time, the countdown on the screen was changing rapidly. The mother didn’t know what to do, and she couldn’t bear to interrupt her son. The tense countdown contrasted with the child’s stuttering recitation, which touched the audience’s mood. When my son recited the multiplication formula, the train started. The brief reunion of mother and son left the audience with endless aftertaste without a few words of dialogue.

During the Spring Festival travel rush season, many people are close to their relatives because of their work, but they can’t stay. The short film "Three Minutes" is based on such a real thing. After the short film was screened, some enthusiastic people found the prototype of the story in the film. She is Liu Zhong, the conductor of the Shenzhen-Urumqi team of Guangzhou Bureau Group Co., Ltd. of China Railway. On January 24, 2017, the media reported the story that Liu Zhong met his son Chen Hongjin (nicknamed Ding Ding) during the four minutes when the train stopped at Hengyang Station after passing through his hometown in Hunan. At the premiere of Three Minutes, director Chen Kexin said that when he first saw the story, he decided to shoot it. In the short film, Tintin recited "99 Multiplication Table" to his mother. In reality, Tintin showed his mother "ma ma wo ai ni" written in pinyin.

For Chinese people, Spring Festival travel rush is a journey to return home or find their own roots. The director Chen Kexin from Hong Kong has never experienced Spring Festival travel rush, but he has touched countless audiences with simple pictures, regardless of Spring Festival travel rush in the short film.

Mobile phone shooting movies has its own advantages.

This 7-minute short film continues Chen Kexin’s narrative style of paying attention to reality and storytelling. What’s more special is that it is a short film shot with a mobile phone all the time, and it is also the first time that Chen Kexin was invited by Apple to shoot a short film with a mobile phone. When sharing his own shooting experience, Chen Kexin said that "Three Minutes" gives the audience some perspectives that traditional films can’t touch. The current mobile phone photography technology has reached a very high level, which can not only record people’s daily life, but also serve as a lens supplement to traditional film photography. In "Three Minutes" shot by mobile phone, the vision of the characters in the picture is more realistic. In the short film, the subjective shot of the little boy crossing the platform to find his mother is completed by putting his hand in front of the little actor, which shows the rhythm and height of the movement, which is closer to a child’s perspective.

Nowadays, more and more young people without professional training are shooting their own works with their mobile phones. As a daily tool, mobile phones are far beyond the reach of cameras in portability. When shooting in a narrow indoor space, in fact, a considerable space is needed behind the camera to set up the machine, and with such a small device as a mobile phone, you can freely take pictures even in a narrow and crowded train compartment. For the advantages of mobile phone shooting, Chen Kexin greatly praised: "Compared with bulky cameras, mobile phone shooting can try the effect of dynamic camera movement, and it also brings many unique and different shooting angles. For example, you can put your hand frame very close to the actor to capture the true feelings of the characters without making the actors feel disturbed, which is an advantage that traditional large cameras do not have when shooting at close range. "

After "Three Minutes" was broadcast online, many netizens were surprised that the picture texture taken by the mobile phone could actually achieve the effect of big screen broadcast, but some knowledgeable netizens reminded: "Don’t think that there is only one iPhoneX between you and Chen Kexin’s" Three Minutes ",but it is actually several times more expensive than the mobile phone. Stabilizer, adapter, lens, drone and palm photographer & HELIP; …” In Chen Kexin’s view, all auxiliary equipment is just a tool to help the director establish an emotional link with the audience. The most important thing in filming is not technology, but creativity. Technology is just a tool, and more and more convenient and practical tools provide the possibility for realizing creativity. The short film "Three Minutes" not only impressed the audience, but also clearly conveyed that the future may enter an era in which everyone is a photographer. The development of science and technology is giving more ordinary people and video lovers the opportunity to complete their dreams about images.

[Those things in China] Take you to see the third bomb of China’s most dazzling technology wind in the eyes of "crooked nuts"

China Daily Online, June 13th (Zhu Yuehong) The rapid development of science and technology in China has amazed the world again and again. Did you, get there? In this issue of "Those Things in China", let’s take a look at how the Long March 11th carrier rocket, 5G technology and the prototype of the high-speed maglev train with a top speed of 600 kilometers per hour interpret the most dazzling technology wind in China, which makes many foreign netizens envy!

Explosion! The Long March 11th "One Arrow and Seven Stars" was successfully launched at sea for the first time.

On June 5th, the Long March 11th successfully launched "one arrow and seven stars" on the offshore platform, which was the first space launch in China, filled the gap in the launch of China’s launch vehicle at sea and provided a new launch mode for China to quickly enter space. International public opinion is highly concerned about this.

Reuters reported on June 5 that just after noon that day, the Long March 11 sea-launched solid launch vehicle ignited and lifted off from a large semi-submersible barge in the Yellow Sea. This small rocket is designed for rapid deployment and can be launched from mobile launch sites such as ships. This rocket carries seven satellites, two of which can accurately measure the information of sea surface wind field, thus forecasting typhoons.

According to the report, in recent years, China has made its space program a top priority, is striving to catch up with the United States and is committed to becoming a space power by 2030. China plans to start building its own manned space station next year.

The Asia Times reported on June 6 that some experts pointed out that the advantage of this sea launch is that it can make the launch site closer to the equator, because the launch of the same rocket in the equatorial region can improve the carrying capacity by nearly 20% compared with the launch in high latitudes. For example, China chooses to launch a rocket in the South China Sea near the equator, which can reduce the fuel required by the rocket and thus reduce the launch cost. Another advantage of launching rockets at sea is that it can reduce the harm caused by rocket debris falling on the ground.

The report also mentioned that the successful launch of the Long March 11th at sea is another example of China’s strength in aerospace and maritime technology.

According to a report in the Guardian, China is the third country to master the technology of launching at sea after the United States and Russia.

Foreign netizens are also amazed at China’s scientific and technological achievements.

Heavy! The 5G commercial license was officially issued, and China officially entered the 5G era

The 5G commercial license is coming! On June 6th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China officially announced the issuance of 5G commercial licenses, and China officially entered the 5G era!

Reuters reported the exciting news for the first time. According to the report, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially issued 5G commercial licenses to China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Radio and Television, marking a significant progress in China’s 5G commercial construction.

According to CNBC, the 5G network standard is regarded as crucial because it can not only support new applications such as driverless cars, but also support the next generation of mobile devices.

5G is not only widely used, but also covers a large area in China, which is also envied by foreign netizens.

On the YouTube platform, the video "Remote Ethnic Group Rises Above Poverty in Yunnan, China" released by New China TV on May 28th received rave reviews. Many netizens marveled that such a remote village actually had 5G, expressing their envy.

"One flower alone is not spring", and China is willing to share the latest achievements of 5G with the world. In the statement of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, a lot of space was used to show China’s open mind: in the research and promotion of 5G, China has always adhered to the concept of openness, tolerance, cooperation and win-win. In the technical trial stage, many foreign companies such as Nokia, Ericsson, Qualcomm and Intel have been deeply involved, and with the joint efforts of all parties, China’s 5G has a commercial foundation. In the future, China will, as always, welcome foreign enterprises to actively participate in China’s 5G network construction and application promotion, continue to deepen cooperation, seek common development and innovation of 5G, and share the achievements of 5G development in China.

On June 9th, New China TV released the video of "China ushers in a new era of 5G technology". As mentioned in the video, China welcomes enterprises at home and abroad to participate in 5G construction and share the achievements of 5G development.

After learning this news, foreign netizens praised China’s achievements in the field of 5G.

When it comes to 5G, you have to mention Huawei.

Not long ago, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) used Huawei equipment to complete the world’s first live broadcast of 5G network TV, and its network effect amazed British audiences.

Before the live broadcast, BBC reporter Rory Salem-Jones excitedly shared the behind-the-scenes tidbits of the live broadcast on his personal social media account. He pointed the camera at Huawei’s equipment and said, "This is it, which can support our first 5G live TV broadcast in the UK!"

Shocking! China launched the prototype of high-speed maglev train with a speed of 600 kilometers per hour.

On May 23rd, the body prototype of China’s latest high-speed maglev train project rolled off the assembly line in Qingdao. This marks a major breakthrough in the field of high-speed maglev technology in China.

On June 8th, YouTube blogger Richard Aguilar published a post entitled "China Innovation! China’s new technological inventions and progress. In the video, he said excitedly that China has always shown us its latest inventions and technological innovations, and this year is no exception. China has also announced new technological innovations, such as the prototype of a high-speed maglev train with a top speed of 600 kilometers per hour. Foreign netizens were very excited after seeing it:

Foreign media have also reported on this.

The National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) reported that with the maglev train, in some cases, ground travel may be faster than air travel.

Australian News Network believes that China engineers will make new breakthroughs. It is reported that the super-high-speed train developed by engineers in China can reach 600 kilometers per hour at present, and it may be faster than an airplane one day.

Sputnik news agency & radio’s report affirmed China’s efforts in maglev train. According to the report, to a large extent, maglev train is still a future technology. However, as early as 2002, China and Shanghai had already launched the world’s first high-speed maglev railway commercial operation line, using German technology, with a speed of 430 kilometers per hour.

CNN also lost no time in reporting this news.

The continuous emergence of scientific and technological achievements in China has made the world sit up and take notice. What surprises will China science and technology bring to the world in the future? Let’s wait and see!

"Adventure Life" was well received: variety shows are not only entertainment, but also social care.

Douban 9.1 points, the star documentary reality show "Adventure Life" updated in Tencent video every Tuesday is a rare "explosion" in recent domestic variety shows. Although there are stars’ blessings, this program does not have the impetuousness of game variety, nor does it have a cursory tour of travel variety.

The audience saw the other side of the star in the program. For example, the hostess Xiao S shed tears in the face of the hunted elephant, and the literary actress showed her early wisdom in the process of pursuing the tornado in spring and summer. The singer Pu Shu showed her sensitivity and casualness in the program. Behind the show, there is also an unconventional team. They have never produced variety shows before, and they are more focused on the creation of documentaries. It is precisely this unconventional operation that has brought a clean stream to the domestic original variety show.

  Program settings cannot be defined.

  Rejected by many stars

As the producer of the documentary "The Train on the Way Home" and "A Hard Work", Zhao Qi, the general director of "Adventure Life" and his studio have been making documentaries before, and it is actually a coincidence that they contacted the project of "Adventure Life". Aya, the host, wanted to do a unique variety show and find Zhao Qi’s team. After repeated discussions, the two sides came up with the planning scheme of Adventure Life. When the plan was shown to Tencent, I also encountered the question "What kind of program is this?". After all, according to the original setting, Aya just made 10 trips with 10 star friends on the show.

According to the operating experience of past travel reality shows, flowers and teenagers, for example, focus on showing the relationship between stars when they travel overseas, while Fast Forward launches a game reality show overseas with the nature of competition, but Adventure Life does not travel or compete, and no one can imagine what form it will be. "Including when communicating with artists, many artists wondered what we were going to do, and some people refused our invitation because of this uncertainty." Zhao Qi revealed that the guests invited by the current program are actually very adventurous and willing to make such an attempt under the premise of uncertain program form.

"We believe that people will start to change at a certain moment because of a special opportunity. This change may be because you went to a certain place, or because you met someone. In our view, this change is a kind of life ‘ Adventure ’ 。” Zhao Qi said that based on this presupposition, the film crew also prepared various experiences for artists, such as chasing tornadoes in the United States, climbing mountains, watching elephants in Africa, and experiencing music therapy in hospice care institutions. To sum up, it is "don’t go to tourist attractions, communicate and communicate with local people as much as possible". This arrangement also had a wonderful chemical reaction with artists. For example, Pu Shu, who is sensitive and introverted, repeatedly refused to shoot, but opened himself after riding a motorcycle, and the contrast between before and after also revealed his true personality.

  Documentary team shooting

  Present the artist’s true feelings

Adventure Life includes 10 artists and 10 destinations in advance, and each journey is also estimated to be an overseas trip of 6 to 7 days. According to the configuration of conventional variety shows, this is a large variety team that needs 100 people. However, Zhao Qi revealed that the filming still continued the configuration of the documentary film crew, and with the photographer team, there were more than 20 people.

In terms of shooting methods, the team also insists on adopting the documentary mode of small machine and small team. Compared with the habit of shooting dozens of cameras in variety shows and often clearing the field, the shooting of Adventure Life is still "small and beautiful" in the form of workshops. "The documentary team hopes to reduce the involvement of the camera as much as possible. Even when shooting outside, we will not let the camera follow too close, so as to make the artist’s state more relaxed and natural." Zhao Qi said that according to the experience of documentary shooting, if the artist can finally ignore the existence of the lens, it will be considered as a qualified shooting effect.

When communicating with the artists’ team, the film crew will also ask the artists to reduce the number of staff accompanying them when shooting overseas as much as possible, and at the same time require a shooting cycle of at least 6 to 7 days. "The smaller the number of artists, the more likely an artist is to step out of his comfort zone. If he returns to his small circle as soon as he finishes filming, it is actually difficult to really form a close relationship with the shooting team." Zhao Qi revealed that if the team protection is relatively weakened, artists will have a stronger dependence on the film crew and their presentation in the film will be more realistic. A shooting cycle of about a week also helps to accelerate the establishment of trust between artists and the film crew. "It is obviously difficult to really experience the so-called life and there will be no special feelings when you leave by plane just for two or three days like a general variety show."

  Focus on social public sphere

  Want to touch the audience

In the title of "Adventure Life", there is such a passage, "The earth, 510 million square kilometers; Humans, 7.04 billion. When we stare at the world, the world stares at us. When we met them, we also met ourselves. Only starting is the beginning of everything. " The audience "Sister Dog Flower" said that it was this passage that made her feel that this program was different, "Haruki Murakami said, ‘ This happens from time to time in my life, and something happens. The light of that moment is like a flare, which vividly illuminates the surrounding scenery that is usually invisible to the naked eye. ’ When I watched Adventure Life, my feelings were nothing more than this. "

"This program shows the three-dimensional sense of the world and the multifaceted nature of human nature. The guests of the program are trying new explorations and feeling new adventures every moment, and as an audience, the same is true." For Zhao Qi, this kind of program feedback is exactly what he pursues. "We always think that variety shows are entertainment, but there are other possibilities besides entertainment." In his view, as an extremely important social resource, stars’ leading participation in activities will naturally generate attraction. "Wouldn’t it be better if we used this attraction to focus on social public areas and attract people’s attention to those areas with more social significance and value?"

He made such an attempt in "Adventure Life", in which the singer Mao was not easy to participate, and the program group arranged for Mao to go to a hospice care institution in Taiwan Province to experience the help of music therapy to dementia patients and severely disabled people. "We have all heard of hospice care, but few people know what kind of institution this is and how the old people live in it. After the broadcast of this program, I believe that many young people can learn about this institution, perhaps because of this program to start contact with hospice care. " Zhao Qi said that the film crew doesn’t set specific goals, but they are more concerned about touching the audience through the artist’s experience, which may help the society pay attention to related topics.

"We are really not a traditional variety show team, but this is not our disadvantage and shortcoming." Zhao Qi bluntly said that as a documentary team, they have their own image creation methods that they are good at, and they have more cultural expectations different from variety shows, which is also the root of the completely different features of Adventure Life. "This may be the insistence of a documentary, but someone has to do this kind of thing." (Reporter Li Xiazhi)

Australia’s SBS TV station announced that it would stop broadcasting CGTN programs. CGTN responded: We have not authorized SBS to broadcast, and we hope relevant parties will act in strict accordance

[Global Network Report] On March 6th, the CGTN spokesperson replied as follows: After receiving the confirmation letter from the French regulatory authorities that the jurisdiction of CGTN channel is owned by France, Vodafone Germany resumed broadcasting CGTN English news channel and record channel at 7: 00 a.m. Beijing time on March 5th. So far, the legal issue of CGTN’s landing broadcasting license in relevant European countries has been solved. We appreciate this.

Another media said that SBS TV in Australia decided to suspend broadcasting CGTN and CCTV news from overseas, namely, 15-minute CGTN English programs and 30-minute CCTV Chinese programs after evaluating the relevant situation.

According to our preliminary verification, in 2006, CCTV signed a cooperation agreement with SBS to broadcast some Chinese programs of CCTV for free, but we did not authorize SBS to broadcast English programs of CGTN. CGTN will learn the truth from relevant parties and hope that relevant parties will act in strict accordance with the law.

  Previously reported:

Australian SBS TV station jumped out! Suspend CGTN and CCTV programs under the pretext of so-called "human rights"

[Global Network Report] After the UK, this time it was the Australian media. According to the latest news from Reuters on the 5th, Australian SBS TV station suspended the broadcast of China International Television (CGTN) and CCTV on the grounds of so-called "human rights".

Screenshot of Reuters report

SBS issued a statement saying: "In view of the great concern caused and the complexity of the materials involved, we have decided to suspend the news briefings of CGTN and CCTV from overseas while evaluating the relevant services."

SBS spokesman also claimed to Reuters that the agency would not broadcast CCTV and CGTN programs on Saturday (6th) and was reviewing "complaints from human rights organizations".

According to reports, SBS program originally included CGTN15 minutes English news and CCTV30 minutes Mandarin program. Reuters said that a message on SBS news website said that after the British media regulator revoked CGTN’s landing permit in Britain, a human rights organization named "Safeguard Defenders" sent a letter to SBS, accusing CCTV of broadcasting content from 2013 to 2020.

In February this year, OFCOM revoked the landing license of China International Television (CGTN) in the UK. At that time, China Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying responded that China has repeatedly stressed that as an international professional media organization, CGTN’s dissemination in the UK strictly abides by British laws and regulations, abides by journalistic professional ethics, and carries out news reporting with the principles of objectivity, impartiality, truthfulness and accuracy, and its professionalism is recognized internationally. In the 18 years since it spread in Britain, CGTN has abided by professional ethics and cooperated well with the British side. Its business conforms to the law of communication and has played an important role in enhancing understanding and communication between the Chinese and British people and promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries. However, in February, 2020, OFCOM suddenly started the investigation procedure to revoke the landing license of CGTN’s English news channel in the UK on the grounds of its "overall control" and political attributes. Although this move was unknown, during the investigation, CGTN fully cooperated with OFCOM’s requirements and sought to solve the problem in a constructive manner, which showed great sincerity.

Hua Chunying said that it is outrageous that OFCOM repeatedly rejected the Chinese proposal, and on February 4th this year, it arbitrarily revoked the landing license of CGTN English news channel in Britain. Facts have proved that this behavior of the British side is not a so-called technical problem from beginning to end, but a political suppression out of strong ideological prejudice.

Insurance technology products are listed together.

2017 can be said to be a year of insurance technology in generate. Unlike the previous tinkering with face recognition insurance, many insurance companies began to list insurance technology as their development strategy. Insurance companies and internet giants have demonstrated their scientific and technological strength, or applied blockchain technology, or launched AI (artificial intelligence) products, and opened relevant platforms to the industry. "Technology+Insurance" is transitioning from concept to application, and the impact of technology on the insurance industry has really begun.

For example, China Pacific Insurance put forward the strategy of "Digital Pacific Insurance" this year, and recently it made a high-profile appearance with the smart insurance product "Alpha Insurance". China Ping An also recently released "smart insurance cloud" products, including "smart authentication" and "smart flash compensation". The same market participants are Ant Financial. In the first half of this year, Ant Financial successively launched products such as "auto insurance" and "fixed loss treasure". Some internet insurance companies, such as Zhongan Insurance, and insurance sales companies have also launched insurance technology products such as big health and smart investment.

Consumers always think that insurance products are far away from themselves, and the emergence of insurance technology will make products suitable for more scenarios. At present, the insurance market is facing great user demand, but some insurance companies and platforms have valuable user resources, but they have failed to meet the needs of users successfully, and lack the mechanism and system of activation, retention and transformation. How to connect users’ needs and insurance ability, the role of insurance technology is essential.

Enter the tuyere or fall into the bubble?

According to the industry forecast, the insurance technology market has great potential and will reach 2.4 trillion by 2021. For this reason, traditional insurance companies and internet companies are actively moving closer to insurance technology, trying to share the pie.

Zhongan Insurance, the first Internet insurance company in China jointly established by Alibaba, Tencent and Ping An Insurance, has been called the "first share" of insurance technology by the industry. At present, the insurance industry pays more and more attention to technology research and development, and the landing and application of insurance technology are also increasing. Does insurance technology enter the market or fall into the bubble? Many people in the industry said that the current development of insurance technology is somewhat blind, many of which are the products of a momentary fever, and many technical things are aimed at auto insurance, but insurance companies are not aware of it. In addition, insurance technology products such as smart investment and care are of little significance unless they can really evaluate and guide family wealth and family health.

The focus of insurance technology is how to better meet the needs of users. In China, many people don’t know enough about insurance, and they don’t agree with its cost performance and other aspects. The emergence of insurance technology enables the industry to "educate" the insurance market by means of science and technology, to do things that benefit and educate users through science and technology, and gradually let consumers accept insurance.

It should be reminded that with the continuous penetration of new technologies into the insurance industry, almost all insurance production links, including product design, pricing, sales and claims settlement, are being reshaped. The existing regulatory framework is based on the traditional operation mode, which is not suitable for insurance technology to some extent, and it is still blank in some fields, and it is urgent to speed up the research on regulatory policies and improve rules.

"Free" reading "light books" exam can’t be much worse.

Wen Rumin

The summer vacation is over half, and reading is still on the way. Both students and parents will have more or less doubts and even anxiety about reading. Recently, the Commercial Press published Wen Rumin, a professor of Chinese Department in Peking University and editor-in-chief of Chinese textbooks for primary and secondary schools, which systematically expounded his views on reading and Chinese learning. Recently, Wen Rumin accepted an exclusive interview with Yangcheng Evening News.

  Examinations and reading

"Never read" the materials of the college entrance examination questions does not mean "never studied"

Yangcheng Evening News: The "Ministry Edition" Chinese textbooks have improved the requirements for reading depth, breadth and speed. Correspondingly, what will happen to the senior high school entrance examination and college entrance examination?

Wen Rumin: Some media reported that the "part-edited" Chinese textbooks are "specialized" and do not read, which means that this set of textbooks has returned to "reading-oriented", paying attention to expanding reading areas and learning different types of reading methods. However, in any case, the capacity of textbooks is limited, and there are not many reading articles collected. It is important to draw inferences from others, so that students can expand from textbooks and classroom teaching, and expand their reading surface and reading volume. This is also the requirement of college entrance examination and senior high school entrance examination. I don’t take part in the proposition, but I am concerned about this aspect.

Judging from the reading questions of Chinese in recent years, many propositional materials are not from textbooks, covering a wide range, and even selected from some papers with strong professionalism, including politics, economy, science and technology, history, philosophy, etc., giving people the impression that — — What I have learned has not been tested, and what I have tested has not been studied. In fact, "never read" does not mean "never learned", but the test is the transfer of reading ability and the application of methods. The emphasis is on ability, thinking, comprehensive analysis, retrieval and aesthetics, and so on.

Candidates who usually read a wide range of books and are active in thinking are like a duck to water in the face of this exam change, and it is easy to get good grades; However, candidates who have a narrow reading range, read only textbooks and only pay attention to "brushing questions" may not adapt and it is difficult to achieve good results. Even if the latter go to college, their weakness of "reading less" will appear, which will restrict their academic development.

The college entrance examination proposition began to explore how to test "whole book reading"

Yangcheng Evening News: Why should we encourage "reading the whole book" in the "part-edited version" of Chinese textbooks? Some people complain that if the language requires more reading, especially the whole book, it will increase the academic burden. What do you think?

Wen Rumin: The "part-edited version" language pays special attention to reading and the original works. In primary schools, there is a "happy reading bar" to guide students to read whole books such as fairy tales, stories and novels. Junior high school has set up a "guide to famous books", which requires reading 12 famous books in three years, and also provides a bibliography of 24 famous books that you choose to read independently. Chinese in senior high school is coming soon. Some students have extended reading after class, or they are required to find books to read by themselves under the driving of study tasks. There is also a special unit of "reading the whole book".

Why do you attach so much importance to "reading the whole book"? First, let students contact some original classics relatively completely, so as to "lay the foundation" for the development of life; Second, aiming at the tendency of "fragmented" reading and "shallow reading" brought by online reading, students can return to complete and sound reading and cultivate good reading habits; The third is to "study and nourish the nature", and to "sharpen the temper" by "reading the whole book", cultivate perseverance, cultivate the mind and get rid of impetuousness.

The addition of "reading the whole book" has somewhat changed the traditional situation that Chinese textbooks only pay attention to single teaching, which will inevitably have an impact on future teaching and examinations.

In recent years, the paper propositions of Chinese college entrance examination and senior high school entrance examination began to explore how to test the situation of "reading the whole book" For example, there are some key details in the exam of A Dream of Red Mansions. If you haven’t read the novel completely and only watched TV, it will be difficult to answer. I think this improvement is conducive to promoting the "reading-based" Chinese teaching and returning to the "essence" of Chinese learning.

Some students and parents complain that the increase in reading new textbooks will increase the academic burden. In fact, the amount of reading required by the textbook has been measured. If students have the desire and interest to read, the amount of reading arranged now does not constitute any burden at all. If you don’t want to study, even if the reading volume is as low as the previous textbooks, you can’t finish it. A lot of time is spent repeatedly "doing problems", and the burden is heavy and the effect is not good.

Yangcheng Evening News: From the perspective of teaching and examination, are there any quantitative standards or regulations for the reading level of primary schools, junior high schools and senior high schools?

Wen Rumin: Chinese is a comprehensive subject, and it is difficult to quantify the teaching effect. However, the basic requirements or minimum standards should still exist, and the Chinese curriculum standards have corresponding provisions. For example, the first and second grades of primary school require reciting 50 excellent poems (paragraphs), and the total amount of extracurricular reading is not less than 50,000 words. Form the habit of reading books and newspapers in the third and fourth grades, and the total amount of extracurricular reading is not less than 400 thousand words. The fifth and sixth grades should be able to browse and read silently at a certain speed. The general reading materials should be no less than 300 words per minute, and the total amount of extracurricular reading should be no less than 1 million words.

Junior high school students learn to read poems, narrative and explanatory articles, read simple discontinuous texts, and can skillfully use skimming and browsing methods to expand the reading range. Get into the habit of reading silently, and read general modern texts with no less than 500 words per minute. Recite 80 ancient poems (paragraphs), and the total amount of extracurricular reading is not less than 2.6 million words.

The new Chinese curriculum standard for senior high school requires reading speculative, practical, literary and other texts, reading more than five literary classics and other reading materials by yourself after class, with a total amount of not less than 1.5 million words. In addition, it is suggested to recite 72 ancient poems (including compulsory and optional compulsory). The high school Chinese curriculum standard also divides the academic quality level into five grades, and describes the performance of learning results at different grades, which can be used for reference.

Promoting quality education under the background of "exam-oriented education has existed for a long time"

Yangcheng Evening News: You advocate that teachers and students should take the boat of exam-oriented education and do something about quality education. How to do less exercises and read more books? How to balance examination and quality education?

Wen Rumin: We must vigorously promote quality education. This is the direction, no doubt. However, the pressure of exam-oriented education is huge, which can not be eliminated in a short period of time, and it is also a grim reality. As long as the social competition is fierce, as long as there are selective examinations, exam-oriented education will exist.

We are discussing how to promote quality education under the background of "exam-oriented education has existed for a long time", which is a very difficult undertaking and requires preparation for long-term struggle.

For many teachers, students and parents, the senior high school entrance examination and college entrance examination are very realistic. They don’t deny the importance of quality education, but they will still put the exam first. This is human nature and understandable. To promote quality education, we should not be divorced from this reality, and we should not completely oppose quality education and exam-oriented education. They are opposed, but they are not either one or the other. Exam-taking ability is also a kind of ability, not all of which can be cultivated by "brushing questions". What we oppose is only those rigid negative educational models that stifle individuality and inhibit creative thinking. It is better to admit that exam-oriented education is "reasonable" at present, and then try to reduce the negative impact of exam-oriented education and gradually expand the space for quality education, which can be changed a little.

The so-called "boarding the boat of exam-oriented education and doing something about quality education" means trying to strike a balance between the two. For example, improving the examination, paying more attention to the examination ability, comprehensive quality and creative thinking may "incite" the reform of curriculum and teaching and reduce the negative impact of examination-oriented education. I have said many times that qualified teachers can make students do well in exams without killing their brains and interests, and they will try their best to strike a balance between exam-taking and quality education.

"Part-edited" Chinese textbooks are trying to change the practice of simply instilling classroom knowledge and repeatedly "brushing questions", advocating Chinese teaching to give full play to students’ subjectivity in learning, doing less questions and reading more books, hoping to promote the reform of college entrance examination and senior high school entrance examination, make students do well in the exam, and focus on students’ long-term development. This is a balance.

Yangcheng Evening News: Some children’s reading has their own preferences and personalized characteristics, and they don’t necessarily like the bibliographies specified and recommended in Chinese books. Should such children respect their preferences and be able to cope with the college entrance examination?

Wen Rumin: A key word of Chinese curriculum reform is "giving full play to the subjectivity of students’ learning", and the "part-edited" Chinese textbooks also try to strengthen the subjectivity of students’ learning. Therefore, students’ personal preferences and personalized characteristics of reading should be fully respected.

For example, since the senior grade of primary school, students don’t like the list of books opened by teachers very much, and they prefer to choose their own books to read. This is normal. The textbook specifies a small number of required books, and most other bibliographies are optional and not mandatory. Sometimes we don’t have to specify the "required reading" list, but suggest reading a certain range of books, so that students can choose from them, which may be better. There should not be too many "prescribed actions" in the reading process, and it is not appropriate to assign a lot of homework. Don’t always ask for "writing", such as writing the feelings after reading. These tasks are too many and tiring to read, which is not conducive to encouraging more reading. If a student has more free reading, his Chinese literacy will also be improved, and the exam will not be much worse.

Yangcheng Evening News: Parents or teachers who let their children read freely are taking risks under exam-oriented education — — Children are also very uneasy about reducing the time for doing problems and other homework to read books. How to grasp this free space and how to balance it with exams?

Wen Rumin: There is a question of how to balance current interests and long-term considerations. Give students a certain degree of reading freedom, and students will read more extracurricular books, which will somewhat squeeze the time for "doing problems". The question is, is it the "right way" to learn by repeatedly "doing problems"? According to the analysis of the candidates who have achieved excellent results in Chinese in the college entrance examination in recent years, it is found that they can get good results without "brushing the questions", and most of the students who get high marks have a wide reading range and active thinking. You will soon see that in order to reduce "brushing questions", the new senior high school Chinese no longer sets up after-school exercises, but replaces them with "reading tips" and "unit learning tasks". Therefore, extracurricular reading and free reading will not "hinder" the college entrance examination and the senior high school entrance examination, but may help the examination.

I advocate that students should read "casual books". The so-called "idle books" are those books that children choose by themselves and are not necessarily tied to the test objectives. Only when you are allowed to read "casual books" and have the "freedom" of reading can you have interest in reading. College entrance examination and senior high school entrance examination are both important events for students, and it is also appropriate to "study for the exam", but keeping a little space for free reading properly can make your hobbies and potential develop better.

  Chinese teaching materials and reading

Children don’t study, which may be due to the lack of reading atmosphere in the family.

Yangcheng Evening News: What worries many parents is how to cultivate their children’s interest in reading.

Wen Rumin: There may be many reasons why children don’t have the habit and hobby of reading. The most important reason is that the family lacks the atmosphere of reading. Unless children have a special gift and can eliminate interference, it is difficult for most children to develop the interest and habit of reading in an environment of "no reading". Parents don’t read books themselves, but watch WeChat, play cards and play games all day. How can they make their children fall in love with reading? Parents of primary school students and junior high school students, in particular, must set an example and study with their children as much as possible, at least not to affect their study. Elementary school and junior high school are the best time to develop interest in reading, which is very crucial. If you don’t develop the habit and interest in reading at this stage, it will be very difficult to "catch up" later.

Not all books are worth intensive reading. Learn to read and browse quickly.

Yangcheng Evening News: You said that primary and secondary school students should learn to read "rolling and crawling" and master reading methods such as intensive reading, browsing, guessing reading, skipping reading and group reading. However, Chinese classes emphasize texts and seldom teach reading methods. How can children learn these reading methods?

Wen Rumin: It is true that the situation of "emphasizing texts and seldom teaching reading methods" is widespread in Chinese class. However, the current curriculum reform focuses on students’ dominant position, protects students’ curiosity, imagination and thirst for knowledge, stimulates their interest in learning, and carries out various forms of reading activities to improve teaching effect.

The newly promulgated Chinese curriculum standard for senior high schools makes it clear that Chinese teaching should solve "Chinese core literacy". Recently, the Central Committee and the State Council issued a document on deepening education and teaching reform and improving the quality of compulsory education in an all-round way. It also includes stimulating students’ interest in reading, learning to read, and taking reading as a habit and lifestyle. I think those who only pay attention to the text and seldom teach reading methods will be improved. Parents should also learn to follow up and create a good environment for their children to study.

I advocate that students should study "continuously", which means that they can learn to read quickly and browse, and they can read without understanding, and their interest is cultivated, and their reading volume is increased, so that their Chinese literacy can be improved. Not all books are worth intensive reading.

Network Reading: Learning the Ability of Media Selection and Filtering

Yangcheng Evening News: How do you view the influence of online reading and fragmented reading on teenagers? What measures does Chinese education have to deal with this?

Wen Rumin: This is indeed a problem. The appearance of the Internet has brought a lot of convenience and promoted the prosperity of society, but it has also caused some troubles. It seems that it is too late for human beings to deal with it in changing their thinking habits and social behavior.

The fragmentation, entertainment and superficiality of reading have obvious negative effects on the mental growth of teenagers. There are many students who can’t live without their mobile phones for a moment, and they lack concentration more and more. I’m afraid it’s hard to keep their attention for more than ten minutes. Their thinking is jumping and collage, and their writing articles or language expressions lack coherence and logic. They are either one or the other, black or white, and they often argue fiercely, but they can’t "focus" … … These manifestations are all related to the fragmentation of online reading.

As for entertainment, superficiality, blasphemy against classics, contempt for authority, indulging in jokes and jokes, it makes the mind flat and vulgar. This situation has aroused the concern of some people in the education field. Some elite schools have begun to try to restrict students’ use of mobile phones and their exposure to vulgar and popular programs, which is also a last resort.

"Cultural fast food" can be contacted, but don’t let "reading taste" be damaged.

Yangcheng Evening News: There is a gap between teenagers and classic books. What should I do if I don’t like them?

Wen Rumin: It’s not surprising that students don’t like reading classics. It’s a common and natural phenomenon. Because they have a historical distance from the classics, language and form may be separated, and of course there are age factors. Life experience and understanding limit the understanding of the classics. In addition, young people are curious and rebellious. The more schools and teachers ask them to "share" the classics they want to read, the less they may like them, and instead favor those "spoof" and "nonsense" works.

How to close the distance between students and classics, so that they can approach classics in a more vivid and friendly way (including the Internet, film and television, etc.) is a topic that educators, including responsible media and cultural businesses, should consider. It is very necessary to explain and spread the classic works in simple terms, but this should not be at the expense of distorting or ridiculing and disassembling the classics.

The habit of reading needs to be cultivated, and reading classics needs to be calm and tempered. It is a long process of self-cultivation. Classics are difficult for young people to read because of the isolation of the times. To constantly overcome some reading obstacles, their rich connotations need to be carefully and repeatedly explored, which will not be as enjoyable as reading popular novels. We must first be mentally prepared to "eat books" and overcome that kind of superficial trouble before we can really enter a good reading state. This is also a kind of study habit and perseverance.

When selecting all kinds of texts, "Bu Bian Ben" Chinese not only touches the classics, but also fully considers the cultivation of students’ reading habits and the mastery of methods. For different types of books or classics, there are also hints on how to read and what to focus on. Teachers and parents also have the responsibility to make students understand that it is understandable to read some fun and relaxing things online, but we should pay attention to the fact that a lot of information published from the media is mixed with a lot of "cultural garbage". If you come into contact with these "rubbish" frequently, you will be easily influenced by value digestion, relativism and even dance academy’s thoughts, and your reading taste will be ruined, which is really in danger of "lifelong damage".

All kinds of popular and best-selling "cultural fast food" can be contacted, but it can’t replace the reading of the original book. If you want to know the taste of pears, you must taste them yourself and read the classics. What you need is the process of understanding, thinking and self-cultivation, which is the "cultivation", that is, the necessary way of spiritual growth.

(Text/Yangcheng Evening News reporter Jiang Wei)

The suspect fled with a million for 18 years: surfing the Internet and playing games only cost 200 yuan every month.

On August 1st, when the procurator from Chongqing appeared at Luo Gang’s home in Dongguan, Guangdong, Luo Gang suddenly collapsed on the sofa like a deflated ball.

Eighteen years and eight days have passed since Luo Gang absconded with millions of dollars on July 23rd, 1999. At this time, he is not what he imagined at first, but he stays at home every day, playing mobile games on the neighbor’s network, and all the expenses add up to more than 200 yuan every month, and the water fee is even less than that of 5 yuan.

He absconded with millions of dollars.

The case has to start from 18 years ago. In 1999, Luo Gang, who worked as a cashier in a company in Chongqing, heard that the unit wanted the last welfare housing allocation. At that time, he was 28 years old and lived with his parents and brother. He hoped to have a house of his own. But he soon heard that the house was divided without him this time. The more introverted he was, the more angry he became, and finally decided to reach out to the public funds of the unit. While the accountant was not paying attention, Luo Gang secretly stamped the company’s seal on the cash check, ready to commit the crime.

Friday, July 23rd of that year. Considering that he didn’t have to go to work for two days at the weekend, he had plenty of time to escape. On the afternoon of the same day, Luo Gang took a check with complete procedures and went to the bank to withdraw 690,000 yuan of public funds and 300,000 yuan of house purchase money paid by company employees, and embarked on the road of escape.

After more than ten years of squatting, I failed.

On the morning of July 26th, the company found that there was a large amount of cash missing from the account. It happened that Luo Gang’s father came to the company and said that his son had not come home for three days. When the situation was found to be wrong, the company leaders reported the case to the procuratorate.

However, Luo Gang seemed to evaporate, and there was no more news.

Cao Hongbin, currently the deputy director of the Vocational Investigation Bureau of Yuzhong District Procuratorate, participated in the handling of the case that year. He said that considering that Luo Gang’s parents and family members are in Chongqing, Yuzhong District Procuratorate chose to stick to this "stupid method": every New Year’s Eve, the prosecutor would go to Luo Gang’s parents’ house to try to catch this fugitive suspect. However, nothing has been gained for many years.

In 2002, Luo Gang’s father died. The prosecutor speculated that Luo Gang might go home at this time. Unfortunately, Luo Gang still hasn’t appeared.

  A phone call attracts attention.

Where the hell did Luo Gang go? What is the breakthrough of this case?

At the beginning of this year, some police officers put forward an idea — — Since Luo Gang’s identity information can’t be found, it means that he has already bleached his identity. However, it is impossible for Luo Gang not to contact his family through his mobile phone, and he may be able to break the ice with his family.

After repeatedly comparing and analyzing the phone records of Luo Gang’s relatives, a phone call from Dongguan caught the attention of Yuzhong District Procuratorate. Soon, find out the name of the owner of the suspicious number — — Zeng moxiong

Prosecutor’s clever arrest in a foreign land

On July 21, Zhao Qing, the captain of the Judicial Police Brigade of Yuzhong District Procuratorate, and Yi Nanting, an investigator, formed a pursuit team and went to Dongguan with the police officers of the Command Center of the Municipal Procuratorate.

With the help of the local public security organs, the arrest team quickly locked in the community where "Zeng Moxiong" was located.

When Yi Nanting knocked on the door in the name of gas pipeline maintenance, he determined at a glance according to the photo that he had seen countless times — — "Zeng Mouxiong" is Luo Gang!

On August 4th, the pursuit team successfully escorted Luo Gang to Yuzhong District Detention Center. At this point, the case supervised by the highest inspection and listing was finally settled after 18 years. Our reporter Qian Ye

  ■ He works in the clothing factory of Escape Road, earning 2,000 yuan a month.

According to Luo Gang’s account, he came to Dongguan, Guangdong Province in 2002, and chose to settle in a town in Dongguan after traveling around with more than 1 million yuan in cash. Here, there are many migrant workers, and the personnel situation is complex and easy to hide.

Luo Gang found someone in the local area to set up a fake ID card, alias "Zeng Mouxiong", bought a house in the local area with the stolen money, and married a working girl from Jiangxi to have children.

More than 1 million yuan of stolen money was quickly spent. In order to make a living, Luo Gang began to do odd jobs everywhere. Because there is no legal ID card, Luo Gang can only go to those garment factories with less strict management and earn 2,000 yuan a month. The money Luo Gang earned was not practical. Once the garment factory laid off employees, Luo Gang was often the first to bear the brunt because of his older age. At the beginning of this year, he was unemployed again.

After his wife divorced and took the children back to Jiangxi in 2015, Luo Gang became an "otaku" completely. He hides at home every day and rubs the neighbor’s network. In the hot and humid summer, there is no air conditioning, so a small fan is blown.

He seldom goes out except for food procurement to maintain his basic life, thus squeezing his living cost to a minimum. Every month, all the expenses add up to more than 200 yuan, and the water fee is even less than that of 5 yuan.

  ■ His confession once went to Chengdu and he dared not go back to Chongqing.

Prosecutor: I have never thought about going home in these years?

Luo Gang: Yes, I’ve been to Chengdu recently, but I’m still afraid to go back to Chongqing.

Prosecutor: Looking back now, do you regret it?

Luo Gang: Regret. At that time, it was also an impulse, which caused me to hide in Tibet for more than ten years. When my father died, I couldn’t go back to Chongqing to see him for the last time, and my mother couldn’t pay for it when she was sick. It was all because I was impulsive.

Prosecutor: You don’t have a regular job in Dongguan either. What are you doing every day?

Luo Gang: Playing games. I don’t have any friends there, and I’m afraid to make friends. I’m used to being alone and muddling along.

Interview with Director Zheng Xiaolong | Creation should tell the story of "people"

The closing battle report of TV series The Story of Xingfu came one after another. After Empresses in the Palace, who has been tossed and turned for 11 years, Zheng Xiaolong brought an excellent work with both reputation and popularity.

Few directors can expand the audience to all ages like Zheng Xiaolong, so that groups of different generations can find sympathetic emotions and characters in his works. Similarly, few directors can make their works last forever, constantly adding new audiences to the original basic disc, and their works are always new, always keeping the pulse and temperature of the same rhythm with the times.

Zheng Xiaolong, born in 1953, has been directing since the early 1990s. His works in different periods, such as Peking Man in new york, Golden Wedding, Empresses in the Palace, legend of miyue, Red Sorghum, Emergency Doctor, Meritorious Service, etc., have almost covered audiences after 60, 70, 80, 90 and 00, and he is a well-deserved national director. At the same time, he is also a literary and art worker who is very concerned about how individuals survive in the changes of the times. Under the focus of the camera, they are all concrete "people", and the "play meat" filled in the drama framework is also concrete and subtle details. He always believes in a foothold. "Emotion and truth are common, and I mainly tell the story of’ people’."

The Story of Xingfu: Dead Water and Breaking.

The realistic TV series The Story of Xingfu, directed by Zheng Xiaolong and starring Zhao Liying and Liu Wei, has closed recently. As a long-lost rural theme work in the domestic drama market, the first broadcast of the drama set off a viewing craze. The prime-time TV live broadcast attracted the top two attention, and the online broadcast was less than an hour. The market share of the whole network drama reached the top, and the real-time broadcast market accounted for 11.46%. At the same time, because of the portrayal of realistic contradictions and the exposure of human weaknesses, it has repeatedly caused heated discussions on social platforms such as Weibo. In the whole broadcast process in The Story of Xingfu, it occupied the top spot in the lighthouse TV drama feature broadcast market for 22 consecutive days, and ranked third in the 2022 TV drama feature broadcast before closing. These steady and steady data all show the amazing national popularity of this work.

The Story of Xingfu was adapted from Chen Yuanbin’s novel The Legend of Autumn Chrysanthemum. At the beginning, Zheng Xiaolong took a fancy to this story. "It mainly tells the awakening of a woman’s self-awareness and legal awareness. Under the environment of emphasizing the rule of law, literary and artistic creation is of certain significance to the construction of the awareness of the rule of law. I think it is very good." Wanjiazhuang, as a famous star village with ten miles and eight townships, has reached a certain level in material accumulation. However, due to its inherent small-scale peasant ideology and clan consciousness, this village has become a "stagnant water" and gradually has the trend of "one word at a time". "So the theme of our story is to hope that people will pay more attention to the construction of spiritual civilization and legal civilization after the completion of material civilization construction. Because there is no progress in spiritual civilization and the rule of law, this’ rich’ will not grow. "

And the heroine’s happiness is the "breaker" of Wanjiazhuang’s stagnant water.

In the initial casting stage, Zheng Xiaolong decided to let Zhao Liying play He Happiness. "We worked together in the filming of Golden Wedding in 2006, and she played many rebellious third daughters in it. She was so stubborn. Moreover, she is born in the countryside and is no stranger to rural life and the state of farmers. "

Zheng Xiaolong believes that the character He Happiness comes with a "halo". Of course, "halo" is not an illogical protagonist halo, but "He Happiness has a basic personality, and she has a simple sense of justice, fairness and equality." As a rural woman with a low education level, she was so happy that her sister was married. She insisted on an apology and was pointed at by the villagers. However, Wanjiazhuang, whose clan consciousness is solidified, needs such a foreigner to break the deadlock. "Because she doesn’t understand the process of the village construction and the prestige of Wanshantang, the village party secretary, she just thinks that I can apologize if I am wrong, but you have to admit it if you are wrong. You have to apologize."

He Xingfu threw a bench over and smashed the head of Wan Chuanjia, the son of the village party secretary, which prevented the marriage and caused trouble. His in-laws were anxious to apologize to the village party secretary, and her husband, brother-in-law and sister-in-law were also wronged and anxious. On the other hand, Zheng Xiaolong used a series of long shots to show the attitude of He Happiness as a new wife. She changed her clothes, tied up her long hair, skillfully picked vegetables, and packed things for cooking. When her husband questioned that she was still in the mood to eat, her attitude was also obvious: the sky fell and she had to eat, and then she went to seek justice after eating.

"Maybe the audience will be more worried about saying that female stars or famous actresses can’t get down and dress up ugly, but in reality, it can’t be glamorous. You work in the countryside and your daughter-in-law is running a family. You have to be energetic, right?" Zheng Xiaolong admired Zhao Liying’s energy. "If she didn’t understand it, she couldn’t shoot it. She didn’t rely on skill, but brought her true nature in, so you will feel particularly comfortable when she performs."

Since the launch of The Story of Xingfu, many viewers’ comments and barrage have been related to "grieve" and "bring your own antihypertensive drugs when watching the drama". The initial marriage-making incidents, land disputes and compensation for land expropriation, including the protagonist’s experience from rural to urban, are all full of realistic entanglements. The material construction of Wanjiazhuang Star Village is indeed rich enough, but the popularization of rule of law awareness and spiritual civilization construction seems to be uncivilized. The main line of the story is how to build the rule of law on the basis of material construction. Happiness is the main thread of this torrent, and her personal progress and growth is also a metaphor for the follow-up of rural spiritual civilization and the rule of law. The anger of netizens, to a certain extent, is also an affirmation that the content of the series is close to real life. Zheng Xiaolong also recognized this point. "We must conform to this creative attitude of realism. Now telling rural stories is to conform to the changes and cognition in the countryside and have a life atmosphere."

At the end of the story, He Xingfu promoted the construction of ecological civilization in Wanjiazhuang, developed environmental protection tourism industry, controlled sewage treatment, broke the original clan pattern, popularized the concept of legal system, and became a new generation of rural revitalization leaders. Behind the destruction of this stagnant pool is not only Zheng Xiaolong’s thinking about the current rural spiritual civilization and legal system construction, but also his inherent sense of responsibility as a literary and art worker. "Creating this thing makes me feel that I can say something and express something that I think is meaningful." He wants to tell the story of a rural woman’s growth, and reflect the fate and struggle of thousands of ordinary people in Qian Qian. This concern and gaze on the little people has always been a humanistic feeling of Zheng Xiaolong’s social responsibility.

"Feminine consciousness" not only represents women.

The Story of Xingfu has been at the forefront from the beginning to the end, and the whole network urged him to get a happy divorce and start a career. In addition to the characters and plots in the play, there is also director Zheng Xiaolong who was brought to the hot search by real-time comments.

In fact, it’s not long since he was widely discussed by netizens and audiences last time-during the period when the epidemic was banned at the beginning of the year, Empresses in the Palace became a drama and background sound for many people. Since its launch 11 years ago, the ideological trend has changed, the concept has been updated, and the audience has iterated. However, the popularity and discussion of this drama have lasted for a long time. Under the "study" of the younger generation of netizens, an independent "Zhen Xue" has even been derived, which is specially used to analyze characters, plots and subtle scenes, including the production of expression packs and network hotspots.

However, in the eyes of Zheng Xiaolong, who is nearly 70 years old, these new things and fragmented interception analysis are all "distant" and he doesn’t understand them. In the 22nd year of the new century, he still maintains his own work rhythm and relatively "old-school" habits. Only when talking about creation will the chatterbox open, "What are the 100 questions? I can’t even answer it. TV plays and movies are montage art, and they are flowing pictures, not watched frame by frame. When I shoot, I will not think that this drama will have such a big impact in reality. "

From Empresses in the Palace’s "Red Sorghum" and "legend of miyue" to The Story of Xingfu, several representative works of Zheng Xiaolong are all based on the clue of women’s growth and awakening, and are completed by the whole construction of the characters, so as to criticize and convey his inner thoughts and voices. However, the growth of women, or the awakening of gender-limited consciousness, is not that he deliberately caters to the creative standards of the market. Instead of telling the story with a specific group, he chose a reference sample to tell the story of everyone in the society, age and living environment where the sample is located. "Emotion and reason are common, and I mainly tell the story of’ people’."

For example, Empresses in the Palace criticized the feudal and backward marriage system. Zheng Xiaolong said, "I discussed this matter repeatedly before filming, and I told the media that it was critical. But after it was broadcast, many people said that it was a matter of the workplace. I was so dizzy. I never thought that the workplace would be like this." He recalled that mentality more than ten years ago. "At that time, for a long time, it seemed that everyone thought the harem was beautiful and luxurious. Many girls wanted to cross into the harem and run to be concubines for the emperor." "The emperor is a big stallion, marriage in this case, how can you have a single-minded emotion? Impossible. "

The realistic theme does not mean that you must shoot modern dramas, which is also Zheng Xiaolong’s consistent thinking. "You can also shoot historical stories with a realistic attitude. The theme and your attitude are two different things." What Empresses in the Palace conveyed was his criticism of the feudal and backward marriage system, while legend of miyue is another kind of realism-historical materialism, which contains the awakening of women, the germination of the consciousness of family and country and the concept of equality. "Miyue is a concubine of Chu. She gradually developed a sense of home and country around the king of Qin, and she also had a critical awareness of the hierarchical bloodline theory and hereditary system, so she would take risks and return to Qin to pacify civil strife and lay the foundation for Qin Shihuang to unify China. Including the Qin Dynasty’s award for military merits, rather than hereditary, these are also the seeds of equality. "

He doesn’t think it is necessary to convey specific ideas through specific themes, and there is no need to limit the gender or identity background of the protagonist. "In fact, people who engage in literary and artistic creation do image, and there is a saying that image is greater than thinking." Zheng Xiaolong is a person who came from the initial period of China TV series, and his attitude is still simple and plain. "After you have done your image well, many people will give it something to think about. For example, when Cao Xueqin wrote A Dream of Red Mansions, he didn’t think so much, he just truly reflected the society. Later, Comrade Mao Zedong said that A Dream of Red Mansions was a mirror of feudal society, and it became a mirror of feudal society, which was the understanding given by later generations. A lot of thinking things don’t mean that we have thought it through in the early stage of creation. We just do a good job in the image. As for the interpretation, how big the subsequent impact is, this is not something that can be thought of at the beginning. "

After being created, the female images in Zheng Xiaolong’s works began to have a lot of interpretations, some of which were even quite different from his original creative ideas, which he had never expected in his creation. However, whatever Zhen Xuan, Mi Yue or happiness, behind their awakening of female consciousness and independent consciousness is actually the awakening of human nature-an awakening of equality, struggle and the rule of law. This has nothing to do with gender, but belongs to everyone’s right consciousness. There’s a line in The Story of Xingfu, which Zheng Xiaolong especially picked out and spoke it again. "Distinguish right from wrong through law, clarify truth through law, and popularize social fairness and justice through law. I think it is very important, because we want to build a society ruled by law. This is also what I want to convey through this drama. "

As for the arguments, contradictions and conflicts intercepted by the fragments, and the remarks urging a happy divorce, they all belong to the endowed "thinking", which is the part that literary and artistic creators can’t control after the completion of their works. Zheng Xiaolong tried to digest the gap between himself and the young audience. "I think literary works still need a little nutrition, and there must be emotional things in them. If the general direction is right, you can."

The significance of realism

After decades of film and television drama, Zheng Xiaolong, which has become a benchmark in the industry, has maintained a stable output, but it is not a "high yield". For the production and polishing of the script, including the preparation before starting, he has to spend a lot of thought and effort to dig the details. Even at this age, the vitality of creation and strong desire for expression are still shining on him.

The Story of Xingfu finalized Zhao Liying, and it also experienced some twists and turns in the middle. Because the actor was pregnant and the script was revised, it was almost more than a year before and after. "After the script was revised, the actor also gave birth to the child and sat down for a month. This is settled."

In the era of fast food, Zheng Xiaolong’s process of polishing the script and preparing the details can be said to be very "burning money". "I have to collect ideas and make field trips. I am particularly concerned about this matter and go to see Anhui local Huizhou architecture. For example, when drilling a well, I have to ask if there was such a photo at that time. The arrangement of the wedding venue for the couple, were they like this at that time? Is the construction of rural houses like this? Moreover, I have to ask the original owner (many details), because a lot of the photos we took are real scenes, and the interior is also real scenes. I am afraid that the art will be wrong. "

At the beginning, in the interview during the broadcast of Golden Wedding, Zheng Xiaolong also mentioned the "obsession" of scene restoration. After the script was polished, it was the preparation of the group, from a food stamp to a bus, which was arranged exactly according to the set points of that era. "Realism" is the key point he has always stressed. Only when the literary image reaches a certain level can the audience’s thinking be attached. "As long as you make a good image, it will have an impact on reality. As long as you make it true and reasonable, it will have an impact on reality."

"Influence on reality" is the sense of social responsibility that Zheng Xiaolong’s generation of literary and art workers insisted on. When a work is filmed, it is not just for fun, but for the audience to laugh. It has to be meaningful and effective in reality. As for how long and how wide this role can be played, it is uncontrollable, but at the very least, it must have a little effect.

Even now, there are some records of old reports in the evaluation of Zheng Xiaolong by Zhihu and other platforms: "The broadcast of" Desire "triggered an unprecedented upsurge of national audiences, and actors such as Li Xuejian, Zhang Kaili and Huang Meiying also became popular throughout the country. At that time, in order to watch "Desire", people with TV sets were crowded into the station almost every day. Even the Ministry of Public Security said that thieves did not come out to commit crimes because they were waiting to watch "Desire". "

Zheng Xiaolong couldn’t help laughing when he mentioned these sensational influences. This is the pride of literary and art workers and the great affirmation of a director who has devoted his life to it.

Speaking of Empresses in the Palace’s overseas export and cultural communication, Zheng Xiaolong once again emphasized the importance of realism. "Truthfulness, telling a good story about China’s history, telling a good story about China now and telling a good story about the daily life of China people, I think this is all possible. In particular, telling the story of the daily life of ordinary people must be authentic and have universal typical significance. "

Of course, we also asked Zheng Xiaolong what he thought of the current shoddy and suspended film and television dramas. He replied very quickly, "I don’t watch it. I don’t think it looks good. I don’t watch it. I can’t watch it, and I’m not affected."

This national director, who is nearly 70 years old, just wants to tell his own story-a story about every specific "person".
